Recent Projects in the IME Department
Do you have a project for us?
Many IME department classes work on projects for companies both locally and throughout California. Examples of these projects can be viewed on this website. Topics include manufacturing process design, facilities redesign, quality control systems evaluations, ergonomic evaluation, and continuous improvement studies. The projects are often worked on by teams of students and faculty. In addition, we have students work on problems as their senior project. We request reimbursement for direct material and travel expenses from the client companies and we are always open to further donations to help facilitate Cal Poly's learn-by-doing methods. If you think you may have a project that we can work on for you, please contact us.

Project Profiles
- IE's in Thailand
During Spring of 2009 a group of Cal Poly students on a Quarter Abroad trip to Thailand work on projects to help the local community.
- PolyHouse
Extreme home remolding is not just a reality T.V. theme -- for a group of Cal Poly Engineering students, it's personal. Over the course of just two weekends each spring, IME professor Roya Javadpour and her project management class demolish and renovate a house to serve the needs of an elderly disabled and financially disadvantaged person who typically has lived in the area for many years.
We are working on the 7th Polyhouse this quarter. Follow the activities on our blog: PolyHouse 2010
