Dr. Megan Chan is an Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She earned her B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and her Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences from Northwestern University. Prior to her academic career, Dr. Chan worked as a technology consultant at Protiviti, where she focused on enterprise software implementations and creating software robots for the workplace. Her industry experience spans multiple sectors, including technology, healthcare, and food service. Dr. Chan’s research focuses on teamwork in complex engineering and operational systems. She has conducted research in collaboration with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to identify transferable principles for high-performing teams.
